Write for us
Modern News Review welcomes pitches that help readers understand how news works and how to approach it thoughtfully. Proposals should offer a clear question, a distinct angle and a useful explanation without relying on alarm or insider mystique.
What to pitch
We consider explainers about sourcing, framing, verification, editing, visual context, translation and the movement of news between formats. A strong proposal names its intended reader, states the central idea and shows what the piece will clarify that a general definition would not.
A useful proposal
Keep a pitch focused. Include a working title, a short outline, the main points you would explain and any sources or examples you expect to rely on. Tell us about relevant experience only where it helps us assess the proposal. Do not send confidential material or claim access you cannot substantiate.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial option. Unsolicited drafts are not required; a concise pitch is enough for an initial consideration.
